Preserving Self-Esteem

Personal care is a sensitive issue. It demands prompt, attentive and skilled attention. It also requires personal consideration to ensure a person's general cleanliness while preserving their self-esteem. Look to us for non-medical solutions that can assist people with the many deeply personal necessities of daily life such as the one described in the scenario on this page.

SCENARIO: Tending to Dad While I'm Gone

Jim is 60 years old and in poor health because of a stroke. He never fully recovered and is usually confined to his bed. Jim's wife kept everything going until she died a year ago. Jim owns his house and detests the idea of moving into assisted living. So, his son Dave has agreed to move back home to live with his dad. The problem is that Dave is away at work all day long, Monday to Friday.

This is a classic example of how our company can help with personal care services. The caregiver arrives at 9:00 AM—first to assist Jim out of bed and then to help him with bathing, grooming, and dressing. The caregiver assists Jim with lunchtime feeding and then makes sure he is comfortable for the afternoon. As Dave makes extra requests, the caregiver also provides add-on help in other areas.
